All members of the school community have the right to expect their school to be a safe place to work and learn. There’s no place for violence, threatening behaviour or abuse in schools. Where such behaviour does occur, staff must know their employer will play a proactive role by taking all possible action to deal with it.
Under your school’s or employer’s sickness absence policy there will probably be a section setting out the role and responsibilities of the employer and the employee (and possibly, other parties).
Your employer has a legal duty to ensure you, or your colleagues, are not placed at risk through excessive and sustained levels of stress arising from the way work is organised or the way people deal with each other and their work.
